Stuart Provan

Chief Executive Officer

I'm delighted to be at Ochil Tower School, especially at such a significant time in the school's history. I've worked for many years in a broad range of social care settings, including a number of residential schools. Previously, I have been a Head of Residential Care.

I've held management positions within children’s care homes, and I've been an external manager for family placements for both children and adults within a Shared Lives model. I have externally managed a Family Centre, a service supporting families with children affected by their additional support needs, and also youth homeless projects.

I've always had a particular interest in developing strength-based care approaches, helping young people build their capacity to be resilient. The social pedagogical model that lies at the heart of our approach at Ochil Tower School is a natural extension to this. Social pedagogy is a holistic and relationship-centred way of working, and this underpins the work that we do. This approach enables us to draw upon the influences of culture, music and the environment to inspire positive outcomes.

As part of my wider Camphill remit, I'm a trustee for Camphill Scotland and also Camphill Central Scotland Social Fund. I hold postgraduate qualifications in Advanced Residential Childcare, Child Protection and Welfare, and SVQ4 in both Business and Care Management.

My love of the outdoors and the wide open spaces of Scotland’s highlands and islands help me to keep my balance in life.
